party at Laojia Village; take part in the new year celebrations of Miao
ethnic group, enjoy delicious food of the ethnic group, rest in a
homestay to experience life and folk customs of Miao ethnic group in
Fenghuang County.

Experience New Year Celebrations of the Qin Dynasty
Duration: Jan. 22-Feb. 1, 2023
Venue: Liye Ancient Town
Activities: experience new year celebrations of the Qin Dynasty at Liye
Ancient Town; visit buildings of the Ming and Qing dynasties and an
ancient well where Qin-era wood and bamboo slips were unearthed and
study culture of the Qin Dynasty; make Ciba, a traditional glutinous
rice cake, fry oil cakes, guess riddles, make rice tofu, and perform
Baishou (hand-waving) dance; and, enjoy snacks of Tujia ethnic group.
2023 Tujia New Year Cultural Festival
Duration: Jan. 1-Feb. 5, 2023
Venue: Furong Town
At Furong Town, a garden party featuring a mascot of rabbit and intangible cultural heritage-themed events will be held.
At Buermen Hot Spring, a hot spring garden party with mix of the ancient and modern will be held to greet the Chinese New Year.
The Laosicheng Site will be a blessing place to experience the authentic New Year customs of Tujia ethnic group.
At the Red Stone Forest National Geopark, a folk song festival will be held.
