Secretary Du Leads CPC Delegation to Norway

Du Jiahao, member of the CPC Central Committee and secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee, led a CPC delegation to Norway between November 12 and 15, 2019. They met with Norwegian political parties, government officials, and business community representatives, and discussed on common development and cooperation, to jointly write a new chapter on the basis of the traditional China-Norway friendship.
 
Secretary Du met with Angelvik, state secretary for the Minister of Trade, Industry, and Fisheries; Støre, leader of the Labor Party; and, Solheim, county governor of Rogaland. He introduced Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, and the spirit of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 19th CPC Central Committee. He also described China's national system and the 13 “adherence and improvement” measures in promoting China’s national governance system and governance capacity modernization.
 
He said China is willing to work with Norway to implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries; strengthen exchanges of experience in governing the country and party building; enhance political mutual trust; and, deepen cooperation in various fields. This would promote the sustained, healthy, and stable development of China-Norway relations for mutual benefits and the people of both countries.
 
Norwegian officials positively evaluated the relations between China and Norway, and spoke highly of the governance system and governance capacity of the Communist Party of China. They congratulated the People's Republic of China on its tremendous achievements in the past 70 years, and expressed their willingness to further deepen bilateral pragmatic cooperation.
 
Yi Xianliang, Chinese ambassador to Norway, met with the delegation and accompanied them on the tour.
 
On November 15, the delegation left Norway to visit Cambodia.
