Mausoleum of Emperor Yandi Added to 5A Category

The Chinese Ministry of Culture and Tourism announced on January 7 that 22 tourist attractions including the Mausoleum of Emperor Yandi in Zhuzhou were added to the 5A category, the highest level in the rating system.

So far Hunan has nine 5A-level scenic areas. Apart from the Mausoleum of Emperor Yandi, Zhangjiajie’s Wulingyuan-Tianmen Mountain Scenic Area, Hengyang’s Hengshan Mountain Scenic Area, Xiangtan’s Shaoshan Scenic Area, Yueyang’s Yueyang Tower-Junshan Island Scenic Area, Changsha’s Yuelu Mountain-Orange Isle Scenic Area and Huaminglou Scenic Area, Chenzhou’s Dongjiang Lake Scenic Area, and Shaoyang’s Langshan Mountain Scenic Area.
