According to recent data from the Changsha Customs Authority, Hunan's exports of rail transit equipment reached 1.02 billion CNY in the first three quarters, marking a year-on-year increase of 36.9%.
Data shows that Hunan's exports of rail transit equipment have maintained positive growth for three consecutive quarters, increasing by 45.4%, 50.8%, and 19.3% respectively. Some of Hunan's finished electric locomotives have achieved breakthroughs and exponential growth in exports. In the first three quarters, exports of battery-powered railway electric locomotives reached 190 million CNY, an increase of 180%. Exports of AC motor-driven railway electric locomotives amounted to 140 million CNY, while that of maintenance or service vehicles for railways or tramways totaled 5.026 million CNY. Notably, neither category had seen any exports in the same period last year.
As international cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative has deepened and leading enterprises like CRRC have advanced their localization strategies, Hunan's trading partners have become increasingly diversified. In the first three quarters, Hunan's exports of rail transit equipment to countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative (64 countries) reached 400 million CNY, nearly doubling from the previous year. Exports to the European Union (27 countries, excluding the UK) amounted to 270 million CNY, up 59%. Exports to ASEAN (10 countries) totaled 150 million CNY, surging 79.5%.
