Hunan, CRE Sign Strategic Cooperation Agreement

Hunan Province and the China Rare Earth Group Co., Ltd. (CRE) signed a strategic cooperation agreement in Changsha on November 30, 2022.

Zhang Qingwei, secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and director of the Standing Committee of the Hunan Provincial People's Congress, met with Ao Hong, secretary of the CPC Committee and chairman of the Board of CRE, and his entourage.

Mao Weiming, deputy secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and governor of the People's Government of Hunan Province, attended the signing ceremony.

Provincial leaders Xie Weijiang and Chen Fei participated in the meeting or signing ceremony.


Secretary Zhang, on behalf of the provincial Party committee and the provincial government, welcomed the guests and appreciated support from CRE. He believed that Hunan and CRE enjoyed solid foundation and promising potential in cooperation. CRE may harness its strengths as a central enterprise to continue to carry out all-round and in-depth collaboration with Hunan. Both sides could jointly make proper top-level planning; strengthen overall research; better implement the strategic cooperation agreement; enhance the development of high-value-added products; and, promote sound application of the rare earth resources, so as to boost intensive, high-end, intelligent, green, and large-scale development of Hunan's rare earth industry. Hunan provincial Party committee and government will fully support CRE's investment and expansion in Hunan, consolidate relevant policies, and guarantee quality services, he added.


At the signing ceremony, Governor Mao thanked CRE for its positive actions in being confident of, constructing, and facilitating Hunan to develop. He introduced that Hunan boasts good foundation and great potential in developing rare earth industry. It now has formed a relatively complete industrial chain from mining and smelting to material production and terminal application, he said, adding that the province will make every effort to create an elite market-oriented, legalized, and international business environment; offer warm and high quality services; and, assist CRE in developing in Hunan.

Chairman Ao was grateful for Hunan's concern and support for CRE. He remarked that in recent years, Hunan has witnessed gratifying economic and social development, which has provided CRE with broad development prospects. The group will strengthen cooperation and exchanges with Hunan in an all-round way; promote integration of the rare earth resources in Hunan; jointly expand industrial parks; and, enhance product R&D, technical research, and talent training, to achieve mutually benefits and win-win results.


Both sides will establish and improve the mechanism of regular high-level meetings and routine communication and coordination, according to the agreement. They will strengthen partnership in accelerating integration of the rare earth resources, promoting high-quality development of the rare earth industry, and carrying forward the building of the rare earth innovation system and talent system, to continuously enhance the competitiveness and influence of Hunan's rare earth industry.
