Hunan's 4 Regions Shortlisted for Top 100 in Competitiveness

A think tank released a list of China's top 100 counties and county-level cities in terms of comprehensive competitiveness on November 29, 2022. Hunan's Changsha County, Liuyang City, Ningxiang City, and Liling City respectively ranked 12th, 17th, 41st, and 95th on the list.

According to the list, 42 counties and county-level cities in 11 provinces nationwide have achieved a GDP of more than 100 billion CNY. The top 10 on the list are: Kunshan, Jiangyin, Zhangjiagang, Changshu, Jinjiang, Yiwu, Yixing, Taicang, Cixi, and Zhuji cities.

The think tank evaluated the economic competitiveness and investment potential of 400 sample counties and county-level cities, based on the indicator system of county economy development which was issued by the National Academy of Economic Strategy of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.

A county economy research report, based on 400 sample counties and county-level cities, was also publicized. The report stated that, the county economies recovered and grew rapidly in 2021, showing a strong momentum in eastern regions and rising sharply in central regions after the fall caused by the epidemic.
