On January 24, the Hunan Provincial Government Information Office held a press conference on Hunan's economic and social development in 2021. According to the unified regional calculation of gross domestic product (GDP), in 2021, Hunan Province achieved a regional GDP of more than 4.6 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 7.7% at constant prices, and putting the two-year average growth to 5.7%.

The value added of the primary industry increased 9.3% to more than 432 billion yuan, putting the two-year average growth to 6.5%; that of the secondary industry rose 6.9% to more than 1.8 trillion yuan, putting the two-year average growth to 5.7%; and that of the tertiary industry grew 7.9% to over 2.3 trillion yuan, sending the two-year average growth to 5.5%.
