Secretary Xu Meets with Pakistan Ambassador to China Moin ul Haque

Xu Dazhe, CPC Hunan Provincial Committee secretary and Hunan Provincial People’s Congress Standing Committee director, met in Changsha with Moin ul Haque, ambassador of Islamic Republic of Pakistan to the People’s Republic of China, and his parties. They came to make an inspect tour in Hunan Province and attend the International Symposium on Traditional Chinese Medicine and Unani Traditional Medicine and the unveiling ceremony of the Sino-Pakistan Cooperation Center on Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Secretary Xu welcomed the guests. He remarked that Hunan is a major cultural, agricultural, and manufacturing province in central China. It boasts profound historical heritage, rich red or revolutionary resources, solid industrial foundation for construction machinery, rail transit, and aerodynamics, and stable and progressing economic development. Especially since last year, in the fight against COVID-19 epidemic and facing the targeted poverty alleviation tasks, Hunan has made achievements that satisfied both the Party and the people.

He continued, “We are now implementing the Three Highlands or Hubs and Four New Missions Strategy in accordance with the spirit of President Xi Jinping's important speech made when inspecting Hunan Province, and combining it with Party history learning and education. Strengthening international exchanges and cooperation is an important part of it. Hunan and Pakistan, based on the China-Pakistan all-weather strategic cooperative partnership, have achieved good cooperation results in such fields as economy and trade, medicine and health, infrastructure construction, culture and education, showing great potential.” He expected both sides to further promote pragmatic collaboration in various fields; jointly implement the “Belt and Road” initiative with high quality; and, endeavor to build a global community of shared future, so as to contribute to the long-standing friendship between China and Pakistan.

Ambassador Haque remarked that Pakistan and China shared a long history of profound friendship, and Chairman Mao Zedong laid the foundation for it. He felt much honored to be able to visit the hometown of Chairman Mao Zedong. He hoped this visit will be an opportunity to promote all-round exchanges and cooperation between Pakistan and Hunan, and achieve more substantive results in economic and trade investment, culture and education, personnel exchanges, and the establishment of sister-city relations. “We hoped to create more models in the all-weather strategic cooperative partnership between the two countries and make new contributions to the construction of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor and the joint construction of the “Belt and Road”, he added.
