On April 16, Xu Dazhe, CPC Hunan Provincial Committee secretary and Hunan Provincial People’s Congress Standing Committee director, had a discussion with Xu Zhijun, Huawei rotating chairman, and his entourage in Changsha.

Secretary Xu said that Hunan government has been implementing the spirit of President Xi Jinping’s important speeches made when inspecting Hunan; carrying forward the Three Highlands and Four New Missions Strategy; and striving to build a modern new Hunan. It has attached great importance to the role of enterprises, and will continue to help make enterprises great and strong, cultivate “little giant” ones, and keep strengthening cooperation with high-quality enterprises including Huawei.

He noted that Hunan’s advantages in universities and scientific research institutes, industrial foundation, and innovative environment are highly in line with Huawei's development needs. Both sides have carried out fruitful cooperation. He expected both parties, in the next step, to focus on ensuring the supply and industrial chains, maintaining national cyberspace security, addressing key technologies that are constrained by others, accelerating intelligent transformation of manufacturing industry, developing digital economy, and promoting low-carbon development. We should find out the focuses where both sides can act on and implement them via specific cooperation projects to achieve a higher level of common development, he added.

Chairman Xu believed that Huawei and Hunan shared a sound partnership foundation, and have achieved many substantive results in the intelligent terminal industry, audio and video industry, intelligent network connection, and computing industry. Huawei will consolidate the existing cooperation results of the two parties, promote in-depth connection between Huawei and Hunan, highlight computing industry, artificial intelligence industry, independent complete sets, cloud and HarmonyOS, and participate in the Three Highlands and Four New Missions Strategy, to enhance Huawei's momentum for continued high-quality development.
