On February 24, Wu Guiying, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee, vice governor of the People’s Government of Hunan Province, and secretary of the CPC Changsha Municipal Committee, inspected the integrated development of Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan (CZT) City Cluster and held a symposium. She emphasized that Changsha should study and implement the spirit of President Xi Jinping’s important speeches made when inspecting Hunan; carry forward the relevant decisions and arrangements made by the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and the People’s Government of Hunan Province; and, be the main force in CZT integrated development. Changsha should do its part well and assume its due responsibility as the provincial capital in accelerating the integrated development of the CZT city cluster, she added.

Changsha, Zhuzhou, and Xiangtan cities are distributed in the shape of Chinese character “品”, forming a “#”-shaped spatial structure with the ecological green core and the main traffic corridors. The CZT integrated development is an important measure to implement the “Three Highlands and Four New Missions” strategy. After years of integration and progress, the three cities have established an integrated demonstration area of 878 square kilometers with three trunk roads of Furong Avenue, Dongzhu Road and the Tanzhou Avenue, and the Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan Intercity Railway and Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan Rail Transit West Ring Line as the radiation points. The demonstration area includes 470 square kilometers in Changsha, 202 square kilometers in Zhuzhou, and 206 square kilometers in Xiangtan.

Wu also pointed out that Changsha must have a higher political position in advancing the CZT integrated development, and make greater achievements with a larger vision. We need to make greater progress; be goal-oriented, problem-oriented, and result-oriented; and, closely follow the two key words of “integration” and “high-quality” to make plans and promote the CZT integration in a comprehensive, multi-level, and wide-ranging manner. We must achieve more substantial work results; take proactive, precise, and innovative actions; strengthen industrial coordination; and, expand industrial clusters. We must take more stringent responsibilities, and strengthen organizational leadership, work synergy, supervision, and assessment; so that the people of the three cities can share the common benefits of the integrated development.
