First Hunan Rural Bank Development Forum Opens in Changsha

The first Hunan Rural Bank Development Forum was held in Changsha on November 25. It said that since Hunan’s first rural bank, the Xiangxiang City Rural Bank, was established in 2008, Hunan has approved 62 rural banks to open, covering 70 counties and cities. The banks have become an important force in supporting agriculture, rural areas and farmers as well as small and micro enterprises. Presently rural bank services are available in all county-level cities and counties in Changsha, Xiangtan, Yiyang, Loudi, and Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture. Hunan Vice Governor Zhu Zhongming attended.

The forum theme is "Rural Financial Innovation and Development under Economic Transition". It is sponsored by the Hunan Rural Bank Association. Zhang Hongyu, president of China Agricultural Risk Management Society, Chen Wensheng, dean of Hunan Normal University Rural Revitalization Research Institute, and other experts and scholars shared their views on unclear market positioning, uneven regional development, and insufficient sustained business of rural banks.

The rural banks with the most brand value and the rural banks advancing in supporting agriculture, rural areas and farmers as well as small and micro enterprises were awarded.

Ten star banking outlets including Zixing SPD Rural Bank Business Department were unveiled. The Hunan Rural Bank Association signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Hunan Chasing Financial Holdings Co., Ltd., Hunan Financing Guarantee Association, and BCS 58 Consumer Finance Corporation. They are committed to opening up channels for Hunan rural banks in the fields of guaranteed mortgage, product research and development, credit data, consumer finance, customer marketing, fintech, exchanges and cooperation, so as to improve business management and financial technology of the sector.
