Hunan Steadily Promotes E-health Cards (Codes) Application

2020-04-06 Download Print
Hunan has steadily advanced its work since making use of big data to launch health codes for epidemic prevention and control for resumed enterprises on February 18. Over 14 million people in the province have applied for their e-health cards (codes), and the total checking number of the cards (codes) has reached 163 million by April 2.

Designed for urban and rural residents by the health care authority, Hunan’s e-health card (code) is a medical service card with the national unified standard. It serves as the general card to handle inter-agency and trans-regional medical problems, so as to facilitate seeking medical advice and conducting health management. Residents now can use one single card to enjoy the whole-process medical service including booking register, seeing a doctor, and reviewing their medical records at nearly 200 public medical organizations in Hunan.

The Hunan Joint Prevention and Control Mechanism for COVID-19 Epidemic requires that related departments should promote health cards, informing all residents the functions of the cards, and how to apply for and use them. Great efforts should also be exerted in promoting the recognition of health cards so that card owners can freely enter places like residential areas, resumed enterprises and public institutions, large-scale markets, hotels, financial branches, hospitals, schools, and other densely-populated public places after showing or scanning their cards.
