On February 1, the Hunan Provincial Health Commission announced that 14 medical teams, consisting of 56 experts on disease prevention and treatment at provincial level, were headed for 13 cities and one prefecture to instruct on the treatment of the coronavirus (2019-nCoV) victims. With their help, medical assistance and diagnosis and treatment in these locations will be conducted in a more standardized way to meet current epidemic control needs. As midnight January 31, 19 formerly critical condition patients have recovered enough to be out of danger.

The experts’ primary tasks will be:
- Examine confirmed patients and chart a treatment plan;
- Review all critical patients’ status;
- Train medical staff on coronavirus (4th edition) diagnosis and treatment;
- Teach preventative measures such as reaching quarantine areas and proper protective suit use;
- Participate in educating the public on epidemic prevention and control; and,
- Supervise and inspect the local medical treatment work.

“We stick to the principles of early detection, early diagnosis, early isolation, and early treatment, and prompt timely medication to effectively patient in critical condition time.”Pan Pinhua, member of the expert group and director of the Respiratory Medicine Department of Xiangya Hospital said.
