On the afternoon of January 23, after checking the epidemic prevention and control workin Kaifu District, Changsha, Hu Henghua, CPC Hunan Provincial Committee Standing Committee member and CPC Changsha Municipal Committee secretary, immediately presided over a leadership group meeting on citywide epidemic prevention.

Municipal leaders Xia Jianping, Li Chunqiu, Liao Jianhua, Liu Mingli, Chen Peng, and Zhang Qinghe attended the meeting or on-site inspection.

After the outbreak of pneumonia caused by the novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV), the CPC Changsha Municipal Committee and the Changsha Municipal People’s Government have implemented the important instructions of President Xi Jinping and the instructions of Premier Li Keqiang. On January 21 and 22, ameetingof the CPC Changsha Municipal Committee Standing Committee and a municipal leadership group meeting were held to make an overall arrangement for Changsha’s prevention and control work.

The meeting held on January23 aimed to dividetasks and clarify responsibilities, in view of the proximity to Wuhan and the large number of people returning to Hunan. At the meeting, the main leaders of each county (city) and each municipal department reported the progress of theepidemic prevention and control work, and were assigned the tasks for the next stage.

At the meeting, Secretary Hu Henghua demanded that all departments at all levels in the city should attach great importance to epidemicprevention and control, especially in view of the sharp increase in the flow of people, goods and vehicles during the Spring Festival holiday, and make solid preparations for various emergencies. He stressed that a clear assignment of responsibilities should be strictly implemented; prevention and control measures should be resolutely carried out, and the public opinion guidance mechanism should be improved.

After the meeting, Secretary Hu Henghua visitedthe Changsha South Railway Station to conduct on-site inspection and arrangement. In accordance with the deploymentof the CPC Changsha Municipal Committee and the Changsha Municipal People’s Government, the station set up a special work team for epidemic prevention and control work, and formulated a special work plan and a joint on-duty schedule for epidemic prevention and control. At present, the station's prevention and control work is in progress in an orderly way.
