The New Kinpo Group’s 13-million inkjets production project started mass production on January 3, 2020. Xie Jianhui, CPC Hunan Provincial Standing Committee member and executive vice governor, announced the mass production starts. Distinguished guests presented at the ceremony included: Long Mingbiao, vice director of the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council; Xu Xianping, councilor of the State Council and former deputy director of the National Development and Reform Commission; Hsu Sheng-Hsiung (Rock Hsu), chairman of the New Kinpo Group; Brian Cargille, vice president of Inkjet and Print Solutions at HP; Wang Yiou, secretary of the CPC Yueyang Municipal Committee; Li Aiwu, deputy secretary of the CPC Yueyang Municipal Committee and Yueyang mayor; Tan Zhenghong, standing committee member and secretary general of the CPC Yueyang Municipal Committee; and, Liu Chuanhan, secretary general of the Yueyang Municipal People’s Government.

The New Kinpo inkjet project is Hunan’s largest Taiwan-invested project, and also a flagship in Yueyang. With the supports from the Central, ministerial and provincial governments, Yueyang collaborated with HP and New Kinpo Group to push forward the project. It took only one year to put the project into operation, after it was launched at the end of 2018. This is a record for both HP and New Kinpo’s global factory construction. At present, the annual output has been expanded from 13 million to 18 million, with the annual output value exceeding 50 billion CNY, tax revenue of more than 3 billion CNY, and import and export value exceeding 3 billion USD. The project will become the world’s largest inkjet projection base. New Kinpo’s regional and R&D headquarters in Chinese mainland and its five proprietary brands, and Huawei high-end manufacturing projects will settle here. A 100-billion electronic information industrial cluster is to be shaped.
