On December 6, a Changsha education delegation led by Lu Hongming, CPC Committee secretary and director of the Changsha Education Bureau, arrived in Entebbe, Uganda, to carry out a series of educational exchanges. It was sent by the CPC Changsha Municipal Committee and the Changsha Municipal People’s Government.

Changsha and Entebbe are sister cities. Since establishing  the sister city relationship in April 2003, they  have conducted frequent cooperation and interactions in such fields as economy, culture and education. In September 2009, the Entebbe - Changsha Model Primary School funded by the Changsha, Uganda, and Entebbe governments was completed. The school, with a total of 600 students, has become a symbol of friendship between Changsha and Entebbe.

The delegation visited  teaching buildings, new security  walls, and the sports  field, and learned about the staff dormitory repair project. They also attended the groundbreaking ceremony of the school’s basketball court. They donated computers, basketballs, footballs, uniforms, and other educational and teaching supplies  together with the Yangguang Foreign Languages Training Agency.

Entebbe Mayor Vincent De Paul Kayanja and Director Lu Hongming witnessed the signing of  a sister-school cooperation agreement between the Changsha Lushan International Experimental Primary School and the Entebbe - Changsha Model Primary School.

After arriving in Uganda, the delegation was warmly received by the local governments, people, and teachers and students. Ugandan Prime Minister Ruhakana Rugunda and Entebbe Mayor Vincent De Paul Kayanja met with the delegation and held talks with them on further strengthening educational cooperation.
