Central China (Hunan) Agricultural Expo Ends

The 21st Central China (Hunan) Agricultural Expo came to an end on October 29. The retail sales at the 5-day expo reached over 122 million CNY; agreements reached were worth of 6.317 billion CNY; purchases and sales contracts valued at 367 million CNY; and, intention agreements valued at 1.066 billion CNY. More than 50,000 visits were made by buyers (including more than 3,000 world’s major purchasers) and professionals. More than 200,000 residents visited the expo. 
 
A number of awards were announced at the concluding meeting, such as the Yuan Longping Special Award, special design awards, best organizer award, and gold award of products. 
 
Themed on “Green and Brand, Communication and Cooperation”, this year’s expo made innovations and progress. It built “seven platforms” for policy interpretation; product display; information release; production and marketing collaboration; brand incubation; and, nationwide and international cooperation. 
 
It presented agricultural production and processing; agricultural technologies; new countryside construction progress; agricultural means of production; agricultural equipment; grain and oil; tea industry; livestock and aquatic products; leisure agriculture; and, supporting services. 
 
The Central China provinces, including Henan, Shanxi, Hubei, Anhui, and Jiangxi, participated in the expo. Other provinces and regions such as Heilongjiang, Sichuan, Guangdong, Guizhou, Yunnan, Hong Kong, and Taiwan sent delegations. Twenty-three foreign delegations and 3,000 buyers from 18 countries, including Bulgaria, Uruguay, and Uganda, participated. 
 
Twenty-three cooperation agreement and purchasing agreement signing ceremonies, and Huxiang cultural activities were held.
