Mao added that the three countries should enhance mutual trust and enrich security cooperation; handle hot issues through dialogues; conduct in-depth discussions to advocate new security cooperation concepts, and adhere to common, comprehensive, cooperative and sustainable security. She continued, “The trilateral think tanks and scholars should brainstorm on security cooperation.”

TCS Secretary-General Hisashi Michigami said that China, Japan and the Republic of Korea are important countries in East Asia and bear important responsibility for regional peace and development. Hideshi Tokuchi, former Japanese vice minister of Defense for International Affairs, and Hwang Jae-ho, director of the Global Security Cooperation Center at the Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, spoke at the symposium. They said that China, Japan and the Republic of Korea should jointly address challenges from the perspectives of the globe, region and China-Japan-ROK in the principle of seeking common ground while keeping differences.
