A press conference for the 2019 Changsha International Marathon was held at the Helong Sports Center in Changsha on October 15. The organizing committee announced the preparation work for the race and route details.

The race will kick off at the Helong Sports Center at 7:30 am on October 27, with 24,000 runners taking part.

This year’s race route is basically the same as last year, covering Changsha’s landmarks including Wuyi Square, Yuelu Academy, and Yanghu Wetland Park.

It is worth mentioning that this year the race’s organizing committee will cooperate with the China Mobile Changsha Branch to build a 1-km-long 5G track for runners at the Orange Isle scenic area. Runners will be able to view the entire route through advanced VR technologies and experience the charm of smart Changsha.

In addition, such famous internet-hit tourist attractions as Pozi Street and Li Zijian Art Museum will be seen along the route.

The year of 2019 is the fifth year that the Changsha International Marathon has been held. A total of 56,881 runners from 15 countries and regions applied for the pre-registration this year, hitting a record high.
