Du Jiahao, CPC Hunan Provincial Committee secretary, met with Zhang Zongyan, China Railway Engineering Group Co., Ltd. (CREG) CPC Committee secretary and chairman in Changsha on October 10, 2019. They exchanged ideas on further deepening strategic cooperation and promoting major project construction, and reached broad consensus.

Zhang Jianfei, CPC Hunan Provincial Standing Committee member and secretary general, attended.

Secretary Du said, “Facing the complicated and ever-changing domestic and international economic situation, Hunan has seized the opportunity and took the initiative to make the major transportation infrastructure, environmental infrastructure, and industrial projects construction as the focus of stabilizing investment and boosting growth. We have made more efforts on improving weak points through infrastructure development and undertaken industrial transfer. In recent years, the provincial investment growth rate has remained stable, the investment structure has been continuously optimized, and a number of large projects and good projects have been located in Hunan. This has effectively promoted high-quality economic development.”

He noted that many central government-owned enterprises, including CREG, have participated and supported Hunan’s development. He expected CREG to continue to give full play to its advantages in capital, technology, and management, and further deepen partnership with Hunan in major infrastructure construction, industrial park construction and development, and old residential community transformation. Meanwhile, based on the “Belt and Road” initiative construction, they may join hands with Hunan construction machinery, steel, and other enterprises to “go global” to achieve complementary advantages and strong alliances. Hunan would create a good environment for them to invest and thrive here.

Chairman Zhang remarked that Hunan province is a key location included into CREG’s industrial layout, engineering construction, and business development. We will take the initiative to meet with Hunan's development strategy and planning, accelerate the building of relevant headquarters bases, and carry out all-round cooperation in such areas as major infrastructure construction, integration of Changsha, Zhuzhou, and Xiangtan, rail transit, equipment manufacturing, investment and financing, and ancillary product procurement, to achieve mutual benefits and win-win results, he added.
