The ‘Golden Bridge’ has become a landmark at the main venue of the 2019 Conference on Dialogue of Asian Civilizations (CDAC).

The "Golden Bridge" is 28 meters long, 4 meters wide and 6 meters high. Under the backdrop of “Belt and Road” Initiative, the landscape sculpture is based on the design of Zhaozhou Bridge, the world’s oldest stone segmented arch bridge. The golden crystal, with sealed national or city flowers, makes up to more than 10,000 golden bricks representing 53 countries and over 94 cities along the Belt and Road routes.

“We are grateful to Shu Yong for contributing to the world a cultural symbol—a bridge of peaceful development.” Elchin Khalilov said so. He was deeply impressed by the giant sculpture when attending the first Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation. He believes that this work is a perfect combination of science and art, and enables the people of all countries to deeply understand that culture and technology are the positive forces for the progress of human civilization.

Shu Yong was born in Xupu, Huaihua, Hunan Province in 1974. He is a member of CPPCC Hunan Provincial Committee, a council member of the China Artists Association, and an art consultant of the Hunan Photographers Association. He is one of the famous contemporary artists in China. His artistic creation features performance art, sculpture, oil painting, Chinese painting, installation, new media and other fields. He won the "Outstanding Artistic Achievement Medal During 30 Years of Reform and Opening-up" and the Lifetime Achievement Award of the 7th Florence International Biennale of Contemporary Art, and was dubbed as one of 20 Outstanding Cultural Figures in China's Development in 2018.
