Hunan’s Foreign Trade Maintains a Steady Growth in First 11 Months

Hunan’s foreign trade has maintained a rapid growth in 2019. According to the Changsha Customs, during the January-November period, Hunan’s imports and exports amounted to 392.35 billion CNY, a year-on-year growth of 46.3%. Exports rose 60.6% to 277.02 billion CNY, while imports grew 20.4% to 115.33 billion CNY.

Export of mechanical and electrical products and hi-tech products registered a relatively rapid growth. In the first 11 months, exports of mechanical and electrical products increased by 59.5% to 119.65 billion CNY, accounting for 43.2% of the province’s total export value. Hi-tech product exports rose 79.2% to 37.59 billion CNY, accounting for 13.6% of the province’s total. A swift growth was also seen in exports of clothes, shoes, and porcelains.

Imports of agricultural products maintained fast growth while that of mechanical and electrical products increased steadily. Between January and November, imports of mechanical and electrical products grew 19.9% to 50.01 billion CNY, accounting for 43.4% of the province’s total import value.

Hi-tech product imports rose 25.6% to 28.23 billion CNY, accounting for 24.5% of the province’s total. Imported agricultural products amounted to 13.45 billion CNY, rising by 50.6%. Vehicle imports have increased by 110% to 5.16 billion CNY so far this year.
