Secretary Zhang: ‘Your Presences Are Good News to Us’

Changsha, April 18(Red Net)——‘It is a great pleasure to see so many old friends here’, said Secretary Zhang Chunxian. Such an opening remark relaxed the meeting atmosphere. From 3:30 on the afternoon of April 17, the very day before the opening of the International Cooperation Forum on Resources and Environment, Zhang began to meet representatives with Hunan Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong, Qu Geping, former minister of Environmental Protection Administration & director of China Environmental Protection Foundation, Martin Khor, executive director of South Center, part of the guests who will deliver speeches on the Forum, as well as senior officials from over 20 key enterprises directly under the control of central authorities of China.

 

Zhong Jian’guo, chairman of Hunan Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong said that recently Hunan has quite a lot of good news and they have felt the vigor that Hunan demonstrates. Dong Ming, vice chairman of Hunan Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong recollected that his mother, aged 80, returned to the hometown Xiangtan not long ago, and had a very good impression on the development there: the traffic conditions are greatly improved, and people have very positive attitudes, all these are very good news.

 

            

 

‘Your presences are good news to us’, said Secretary Zhang. He analyzed the socioeconomic situations of Hunan and introduced the effects in Hunan of Central Government’s policy of expanding domestic demands as well as Hunan’s policy of new industrialization and three basics. Hunan boasts a great potential for development, and now it is right on the stage of planning. Four years later, Hunan will probably usher in its fastest developing period, said Secretary Zhang. Zhang also introduced specifics of Hunan in pollution treatment, stressing Hunan’s determination to pursue scientific development.

 

Kang Rixin, secretary of the Party’s leadership group and general manager of China National Nuclear Corporation, vowed that they will further enhance cooperation with Hunan and expand the investment in Hunan to achieve complementariness of advantages of both parties and mutual benefits.

 

Qu Geping highly praised the green economy Hunan intends to develop. Qu said that such a high-level forum is not so often seen in China, hoping that Hunan will always keep to such a notion of ‘green economy’.
