Job Description

School: Ningxiang Country Garden School and Judge Business Academy
Location: Changsha, Hunan
Department: International Senior High School
Reports to: Head of Department
Responsible for: Teaching students basic, intermediate and advanced chemistry, all the while ensuring that their students are well-grounded in general scientific concepts and methods.

Skills and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or higher (Education preferred)
TEFL/TESOL certification minimum (CELTA/DELTA/PGCE/QTS preferred)
A good grasp of the methodology of teaching Subject curriculum is required, with IGCSE, A-level and/-or IB Subject teaching experience preferred
Have an understanding and ability to teach pupils of all abilities
Previous experience in an international school preferred
Must be able to obtain a cleared background check

Performance Responsibilities:
To undertake a designated program of teaching chemistry across all key stages.
Prepare and consistently deliver high quality lessons.
Be a role model for students, inspiring them to be actively interested in chemistry.
Supervise students' laboratory work.
Evaluate and grade students' class work, laboratory performance, assignments, and papers.
Compile, administer, and grade examinations, or assign this work to others.
Maintain student attendance records, grades, and other required records.
Prepare course materials such as syllabi, homework assignments, handouts and examinations.
Maintain regularly scheduled office hours in order to advise and assist students.
Plan, evaluate, and revise curricula, course content, and course materials and methods of instruction.
Keep abreast of developments in their field by reading current literature, talking with colleagues, and participating in professional conferences.
Respect, appreciate and understand differences in learning and school culture.
Participate in a culture of professional learning.
Be accountable and a positive advocate for all management decisions.
Attend staff meetings, teacher workdays and recommended professional development activities.
Perform additional duties as assigned by the Principal or Head of Department.
