The Third Session of the Eleventh Hunan Provincial Committee of the CPPCC
On the afternoon of January 23, the Third Session of the Tenth Political Consultative Conference of Hunan Province rang the curtain up in Changsha. 15 representative citizens were invited to present at the conference as last year. However, it still differs from the meeting of last year because most of the representatives are ordinary people from grassroots.
To facilitate face-to-face communication between committee members and provincial leaders and so that the members can express their opinions frankly, the conference arranged nine group discussions, three more than that of the previous years. In addition, the nonvoting delegates made up by chairmen of the political consultative conferences at county, city and district levels in the past were all integrated into the panels.
Since the Second Session of the Tenth Political Consultative Conference of Hunan Province, the democratic parties, the Hunan Provincial CPC Committee, Hunan Federation of Industry & Commerce, and members of people-related organizations and the Political Consultative Conference of Hunan Province have offered advice and suggestions in an active manner and put forward 901proposals with 879 put on record. Among them, 78 proposals were collectively raised by political groups and special committees, 801 by individual committee members, and 108 were submitted to relevant departments for handling. Up to the end of last November, all proposals had been responded on the net.
