The First China International Culture-Tourism Festival is jointly sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, the National Tourism Administration of the P.R.C., and the Hunan Provincial People's Government. It is held in Zhangjiajie City, northwest Hunan Province. By organizing and carrying out a broad variety of activities nationwide and publicizing and reporting the event through concentrated effort, the festival aims at presenting the accomplishments in the combination of tourism and culture, further boosting the in-depth combination of tourism and culture, and promoting the prosperity and development of the cultural tourism market.

The emblem resembles a "seal". It depicts an abstract image of "dragon in the cloud" inside the seal, indicating such elements as China, the Divine Land, and culture. Besides, an image of mountain and water is also depicted inside, highlighting the element of
tourism. The design has properly shown the connotations and characteristics of the China International Culture-Tourism Festival.
The design also shows an image of a cruise ship, revealing the festival theme - "Traveling in China, appreciating Chinese culture".
Under the design read the words "2010 Zhangjiajie", indicating the festival is to be held in Zhangjiajie
The emblem takes red as the main color, symbolizing this festival will be warm, festive and auspicious and also indicating the warmness and vitality of Hunan people.
