China's Longest Intercity Railway Tunnel Constructed in Hunan

On August 1, a three-story shield machine was seen breaking out of the earth at Xiangzhang Road Station of Changsha.

Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan intercity railway Shumuling Section, the longest intercity railway tunnel undertaken by the 14th Construction Bureau Co., Ltd. of China Railway Construction Corporation Limited (CRCC), opened to traffic on August 2.

The intercity railway connecting Changsha, Zhuzhou and Xiangtan totals 96 kilometers. Of this, 23 kilometers pass through Changsha downtown area, making it the longest intercity underground railway of the country and acclaimed as “intercity railway linking subway, intercity subway connecting railway”.
