Van Gogh in China: Virtual Reality Art Exhibition

2017-07-05 T | T Download Print

Duration: June 30 – August 30
Venue: Changsha Museum

The Van Gogh in China: Virtual Reality Art Exhibition opens to the public from June 30 to August 30 in Changsha Museum. Van Gogh’s 80 paintings, now displayed in museums around the world, are to be shown on interactive walls. Virtual reality (VR), unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), and multimedia technologies are used to give the visitors realistic images, sounds and sensations.

Modern Technology Adopted

The show will be immersive when you wear a VR headset. You may “look around” the tulips in Van Gogh’s homeland—Netherlands, or windmills on a dam in Amsterdam. You can take a VR bicycle simulator to “ride” in a sunflower field in southern France.

Van Gogh’s World

The VR film tells the story of Van Gogh in an interactive way. It gives the visitors a chance to learn about Van Gogh’s life, from his birthplace in the Netherlands, his growth in the Hague, London, Belgian coalmine and Paris, his home in the south of France, and to his last years in France’s Auvers-sur-Oise.
