Hunan Reaps Fruitful Achievements at Hunan (Shanghai) Investment Promotion Week 2016



During Hunan (Shanghai) Investment Promotion Week 2016 held from Aug. 16 to 20, Hunan gained fruitful achievements. 197.7 billion yuan of investment has been attracted and 11 strategic cooperation agreements signed. A variety of high-quality Hunan products has entered into Shanghai’s market, such as canteens of government organizations, factories and mining areas, and supermarkets and shopping malls.

Yangtze River economic belt is a new strategy believed to help deepen reforms and opening-up. Initiatives such as actively integration into Yangtze River economic belt and deepening collaboration with provinces and cities along the economic belt play a vital role in stimulating Hunan’s internal impetus to growth.

It was reported that Hunan introduced over 1,000 projects worth 3,000 billion yuan at the investment promotion week, centering on various high-end industries such as intelligent manufacturing, rail transit, new energy vehicles, and new materials.

Hunan also initiated joint development of trans-regional industrial park through synergy with provinces and cities along Yangtze River economic belt. The Department of Commerce of Hunan Province and Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce signed a memorandum of understanding to co-build an economic development zone and realize sharing of investment information.

During the event, other four industrial parks from Hunan respectively signed cooperative agreements with four ones from Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai.

He visits the Starbucks (China) headquarters.


Vice Governor of Hunan Province He Baoxiang made an inspection tour to Auchan Group of France and Starbucks (China) headquarters in Shanghai on August 17, 2016 during the Hunan (Shanghai) Investment Promotion Week 2016. He hoped that more world-class brands will enter Hunan market.

Auchan Group was founded in 1961 in the northern French city of Lille, ranking the 11thin food retailer worldwide. Mainly engaged in multi-format development of Hypermarket, Supermarket, Banque Accrod, Immochan commercial center, and E-business, it is intended to set up the first commercial center in Hunan.

Starbucks has established 32 branches in Hunan with a total investment of over 100 million yuan since its debut in Hunan six years ago. In the following two years, it is scheduled to add eight more in the province to extend its network to 7 cities and prefecture.

He introduced that Hunan has become a logistic center in central China thanks to the rapid development of its transportation such as high-speed railway, aviation, and expressway. More and more world famous enterprises are welcome to settle down here, and Hunan will offer favorable profits for them, he added.

Xiangjiang New Area to Debut at Hunan (Shanghai) Investment Promotion Week 2016



“Xiangjiang New Area Promotion Fair”, a themed event of the “Hunan (Shanghai) Investment Promotion Week 2016”, will be held in Shanghai on August 19, 2016, to further publicize its influence and popularity in the Yangtze River Delta.

More than 140 grand projects valued over 740 billion yuan have been signed to develop the national-level Xiangjiang New Area this year, of which 15 boasts five billion yuan investment for each. For instance, IKEA Shopping Mall has officially settled down here and is scheduled to be under construction soon and start operation in 2019. It will provide 5000 employment opportunities and bring over 20 million visits annually. Binjiang International Financial Center, called as the “New Financial Landmark of Xiangjiang New Area”, has attracted more than 10 investors such as China Minsheng Bank, Shanghai Pudong Development Bank, Hilton Hotels, Vanke Real Estate, and Evergrande Real Estate. The Area has been included in the first batch of national “innovation and entrepreneurship” demonstration base this May and has also attracted many internet companies to invest here, including Google, Tencent, Ali, Baidu, and

Xiangjiang New Area will mainly introduce its high-end manufacturing, and cultural and creative industries at the fair. Two projects of China-U.S. Research Center on Energy and Environmental Innovation, and Wal-Mart Hunan Headquarters will also be signed on the site.

100 Hunan Manufacturing Projects to Attract Investment in Shanghai



A cooperative matchmaking conference on Hunan manufacturing power construction, one of the major activities of Hunan (Shanghai) Investment Promotion Week 2016, will be held in Shanghai on August 18, 2016. 100 promotion projects will be introduced at the meeting, of which those pragmatically high quality ones will be signed on the site.

Those projects mainly focus on 12 industrial sectors of advanced railway equipment, engineering machinery, new materials, new information technology, aerospace equipment, energy saving and new energy vehicles, power facilities, biomedicine and medical devices, energy conservation and environmental protection, advanced numerical control machines and robots, offshore installation and high-tech ships, and agricultural machinery. Up till now, 226 projects of manufacturing category have been collected with 42 ones signed.

Besides, more than 80 merchants of many business associations such as Shanghai Federation of Industrial Economics and Shanghai Big Data Alliance, representative enterprises of manufacturing field including GalaxyCore Inc. and China Electric Equipment Group Shanghai Branch, and financing units like Integrated Circuit Investment Fund were scheduled to attend the meeting.
