Hunan Art Troupe Performs in East Timor

On the evening of September 28, the Hunan Art Troupe staged its last performance in East Timor. The troupe, along with local overseas Chinese, celebrated the 70th anniversary of the founding the People’s Republic of China (PRC). 
 
East Timorese Deputy Speaker, Former President José Ramos-Horta, Chinese Ambassador to East Timor Xiao Jianguo, and more than 1,500 overseas Chinese watched the performance.
 
The Hunan Art Troupe was the first Chinese troupe to perform in East Timor. Its performance full of festive atmosphere and blessings was warmly welcomed and strongly supported by the local overseas Chinese community.
 
Accompanied by the sound of the gongs and drums, wonderful lion dances ignited the joy of the celebration. East Timorese song and dance performances; and Chinese folk music and acrobatics were staged. The magnificent Chinese national anthem aroused the audience’s deep love for the motherland.
 
Between September 25 and 28, the Hunan Art Troupe has performed four shows in Manatuto Agricultural Industrial Park and Dili, capital of East Timor. The shows presented the charm of Chinese culture, and helped enhance the friendship between China and East Timor and increase overseas Chinese’s love and affection to the motherland.
