Changsha County Ranks 5th Among China’s Top 100 Counties

On October 8, the People’s Daily announced the results of the study on the high-quality development index of small and medium-sized cities in China 2019. The lists of China’s top 100 counties and county-level cities, and top 100 districts with the strongest comprehensive strength, were released. 
 
The comprehensive strength of Changsha County and Liling City ranked 5th and 80th among China’s top 100 counties and county-level cities. Changsha’s Yuhua, Yuelu, and Wangcheng Districts ranked 29th, 62nd, and 72nd among the top 100 districts in this regard.
 
The comprehensive strength index includes five aspects: modern economic development; people’s livelihood improvement; ecological environment protection; integrated urban-rural development; and, efficiency of government services.
 
In recent years, Changsha County and Liling City have been included in China’s top 100 counties and county-level cities in terms of comprehensive strength. Changsha County has been firmly among the top 6. 
 
Compared with 2018, Yuhua District and Yuelu District both rose by one place in the comprehensive strength rankings; and Wangcheng District rose by two places.
 
The study also ranked counties and county-level cities based on their green development, investment potential, and scientific and technological innovation. 
 
In terms of green development, Changsha County ranked 6th among China’s top 100 counties and county-level cities. 
 
In terms of investment potential, Changsha County ranked 6th and Liling City 57th among China’s top 100 counties and county-level cities. 
 
In terms of science and technology innovation, Changsha County ranked 8th and Liling City 49th among China’s top 100 counties and county-level cities.
