Hunan E-commerce Trade Volume Exceeds One Trillion CNY

The Hunan Provincial Department of Commerce announced the "2018 Hunan E-Commerce Report".
Statistics show that, in 2018, Hunan trade volume through e-commerce reached 1.06 trillion CNY, a year-on-year increase of 27.12%. Online retail sales, including business-to-consumer (B2C) and consumer-to-consumer (C2C), rose 31.14% to over 204.11 billion CNY. The volume of business-to-business (B2B) market exceeded 858 billion CNY, an increase of 26.2%.
A group of excellent e-commerce companies have grown up, covering metal materials; community e-commerce; smart accessories; home textiles and clothing; beauty and skin care; maternal and child supplies; domestic medical equipment; rural e-commerce; and, tourism services.
The pace of integration of e-commerce and traditional industries has been accelerated. Changsha-based community e-commerce platform “Xingsheng Youxuan” has developed rapidly, which has greatly enhanced the city’s scale and influence in this sector. Changsha has thus been hailed as the community e-commerce capital. 
Life service platforms based on online food delivery such as Meituan Dianping and grow rapidly in Hunan. Traditional retailers and stores launched O2O business model, with orders and sales both increased significantly. 
The development of rural e-commerce has achieved remarkable results. Traditional large e-commerce platforms and new social e-commerce platforms are increasingly popular in rural areas, injecting new vitality into rural consumer market. Hunan has pushed forward an e-commerce based poverty alleviation special action and a comprehensive demonstration project on promoting e-commerce in rural areas. The efforts help expand sales channels for high-quality rural agricultural products. In 2018, Hunan’s online retail sales of agricultural products reached 13.52 billion CNY, a year-on-year increase of 33.9%, higher than the provincial average growth rate.
Cross-border e-commerce has made breakthroughs in the following aspects: 
-- The China (Changsha) Cross-Border E-commerce Comprehensive Pilot Zone was approved;
-- A series of policy documents on cross-border e-commerce development were promulgated, including “Notice on Replicating and Applying Innovation Initiatives and Experiences of Cross-border E-Commerce Pilot Zones”, and “Implementation Plan of China (Changsha) Cross-border E-Commerce Comprehensive Pilot Zone”; 
-- Policies on boosting cross-border e-commerce were further improved; and,
-- Business environment has improved.
