The Hunan Xiangjiang Intelligent Technology Innovation Center Co., Ltd. was approved by the Hunan Industry and Information Technology Department to be Hunan’s manufacturing innovation center for intelligent connected vehicle testing.

The center was founded in August 2018. It is engaged in operating and managing the National Intelligent Connected Vehicle (Changsha) Testing Zone. It provides system testing service for smart passenger cars, commercial vehicles, unmanned aerial vehicles, robots, intelligent machine, and connected communication service providers.

At present, 5G communication service is available along the 7.8-km smart bus demonstration line in the zone. The 5G-based real-time traffic information communication can help prevent accidents, and improve driving efficiency.

The center will focus on: making use of innovation resources to develop key measurement and testing technology and cutting-edge technologies for smart connected vehicles; improve operation mechanism; improve fundamental conditions; and, enhance R&D and innovation ability. It will fulfill its duties as a provincial manufacturing innovation center, and contribute to Hunan’s high-quality economic development.

Next, the center will, based on the Xiangjiang New Area’s new industrial layout, accelerate establishing a simulation laboratory for intelligent system device testing, and develop usage scenarios for smart bus demonstration line, automatic parking, smart expressway, smart logistics park, 100-km testing road, automatic environmental sanitation vehicles, and 5G-V2X demonstration. Hence, the Xiangjiang New Area, and the “Xiangjiang Intelligent Valley”, will be built to be a new horizon of smart connected vehicle innovation and industrialization in China, and even the world.
