Hunan Government Approves Poverty Elimination of Five Counties

On August 6, the Hunan Provincial Poverty Alleviation and Development Office (Office) released its Reply of the Hunan Provincial People’s Government on Approving Five Counties Including Chaling County to Shake off Poverty
The five counties are Chaling, Yanling, Shimen, Guidong, and Zhongfang. They have met the requirements listed on the following documents:
The Feedback on Evaluation and Inspection Results on Poverty Elimination of Hunan’s Poor Counties in 2017 issued by the State Council Leading Group Office of Poverty Alleviation and Development (CPAD);
The Notice of Trial Implementation Suggestions on Establishing Poverty Elimination Mechanism issued by the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and the People’s Government of Hunan Province general office.
And they have passed national evaluation and inspections before applying to cease being listed as “A Poor County”.
The Office will supervise these five counties to further perform better in poverty alleviation based on working plans. These plans were made by the State Council’s Poverty Alleviation and Governance Group, the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee, and the Hunan Provincial People’s Government. 
Greater efforts will be made to:
1.Intensify the assistance to the remaining impoverished people;
2.Consolidate the achievements of anti-poverty programs;
3.Ensure the complete fulfillment of poverty alleviation task;
4.Continue to provide supports to guarantee the stability and sustainability of poverty elimination;
5.Further the strictest evaluation and inspection; and,
6.Strengthen supervision and management, so that the achievements of poverty alleviation can stand the test of the history and people. 
In April of this year, the Hunan Provincial People’s Government approved the following locations to no longer be listed as “a poor place”:
Qidong, Shuangpai, Yongjiang, and Ningyuan Counties; Hecheng District; Hongjiang and Jishou Cites were on the list.
