On December 5, China (Changsha) Intelligent Manufacturing Summit—Forum on Building Intelligent Manufacturing Demonstration Zone was held at the Changsha International Convention and Exhibition Center. In attendance were experts and scholars including Chinese Academy of Engineering academician Tan Jianrong, and representatives from Bosch Automobile, RootCloud, and other firms.

At the forum, Changsha Economic and Technical Development Zone (CETDZ) issued its medium- and long-term development plan of smart manufacturing. Under the plan, CETDZ will build a world-class intelligent manufacturing industry cluster within 8 years and set up a 10-billion-yuan fund to promote the development of intelligent manufacturing industry.

The plan aims to build a national demonstration area for smart manufacturing and a 500-billion-yuan national industrial park. It will improve total factor productivity by developing advanced equipment manufacturing, automobiles and spare parts, electronic information industry.

The plan will be implemented in two phases. By 2021, world-leading intelligent manufacturing application base, demonstration base and innovation base will have been built. A world-class Internet platform for industrial enterprises will have been established; public services for intelligent manufacturing improved and an intelligent manufacturing talent base set up. By 2025, all leading featured industries will be promoted to realize intelligent transformation. A world-class intelligent manufacturing industry cluster will be built, with three industries creating an output value of over 100 billion yuan each.

At the forum, CETDZ signed a cooperative agreement with China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, RootCloud Technology Co., Ltd. and Suzhou Unimap Software Co., Ltd., to jointly design a synergy mechanism for intelligent manufacturing, smart park and industrial Internet to secure the implementation of the plan.
