Hengyang Government reached an agreement of establishing friendly-city relationship with the City of Legazpi, the Philippines, on January 8, 2018.
CPC Hengyang Municipal Committee Deputy Secretary and also Mayor of Hengyang Zheng Jianxin, and Mayor of Legazpi Noel Rosal signed a letter of intent.
Abide by the Joint Communiqué on the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between China and the Philippines, Hengyang and Legazpi establish the friendly-city relationship to consolidate friendly cooperation between the two cities, and promote mutual understanding and friendship between Chinese and the Philippine people. The two cities agree to develop communication between the two peoples, economic and trade ties, and exchanges and cooperation in the areas of agriculture, tourism, science and technology, culture, sports, healthcare, education, and talents.
Zheng met with Noel Rosal before the signing ceremony. Zheng stressed the significance of developing friendly-city ties between the two neighboring countries. Hengyang is willing to push forward cooperation with Legazpi in agriculture, tourism, and mineral product development.
Noel Rosal expected to learn from Hengyang’s experience in developing agriculture and tourism, and welcomed Hengyang people to travel in Legazpi.
Vice Mayor of Hengyang Zhou Yumei presided over the signing ceremony.
