Hunan Governor Xu Dazhe led a delegation to visit Hungary between July 11 and 12, 2017 (Hungary local time). The tour aims to upgrade and expand cooperation with the country, which is along the “Belt and Road” route.
On July 11, Governor Xu met with Somogy County head in Somogy. The two sides signed a memorandum of understanding on friendly cooperation in economic and trade, science and technology, environmental protection, culture and education.
On July 12, Xu met with a Hungarian National Assembly vice chairman, parliamentarians in Budapest, and visited the Hungarian Parliament Building. He encouraged Hungarian enterprises to cooperate with Hunan in rail transit, modern agriculture, tourism, and education. The Hungarian National Assembly vice chairman expected to strengthen collaboration with Hunan in education, scientific research, and tourism.
Xu and the vice chairman witnessed the signing of a strategic cooperation agreement between Central South University and University of Debrecen. The two universities agreed to promote cooperation in student exchange, credit recognition, diploma conferring, scientific research, education, and Confucius Institute construction.
Xu also visited China's ambassador to Hungary Duan Jielong and the Bank of China Budapest Branch. They discussed about Hunan-central and eastern European countries cooperation to facilitate Hunan’s participation in the “Belt and Road” Initiative.
