Construction of Shaoyang Baicang-Xinning Expressway

Introduction: after the successful application of Xinning Langshan for world heritage site, the visitors are expected to be multiplied, therefore, an expressway from Xinning County to Shanyang Baicang is planned to be constructed to connect Langshan with Changsha, Zhuzhou, Xiangtan and other cities in Hunan, so as to provide tourists with more convenient traffic. The expressway starts from Baicang Town, Shaoyang, and is connected with Shaoyang-Yongzhou Expressway which is under construction; ending in Xinning and connected to Dongkou-Xinning Expressway which is also under construction. The total length is about 83km.  

It is a four-lane expressway, and the necessary connecting roads, traffic engineering and roadside facilities will be built accordingly, all technical indicators shall conform to the regulations of Technical Standards of Highway Engineering (JTG B01－2003) issued by the Ministry of Transportation.  

Policy support: Shaoyang Baicang-Xinning Expressway is an important part of highway network in Hunan Province, it is one of the projects listed into “the Twelfth Five-year Plan” of communication and transportation. 

Benefit assessment: it is predicted that the annual volume of traffic of the Expressway will reach 10363 cars/d in 2020 and 29168 cars/d in 2035.
