Xinhuang Dong Autonomous County Cattle Industrialization Development Project

Introduction: Xinhuang is located at the transition zone of Wuling mountains to the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau Miaoling, and has moist subtropical monsoon climate; dominated by mountains in the territory, it has a mountain area of 1.906 million mu, and rich in forage grass resources, including all kinds of grassland of 800,000mu, more than 400 kinds of edible forage, and arable land of 208,200mu in the territory, with 400,000 tons of crop stalks each year. It has been planned to build a cattle breed base with annual output of 10,000 slaughtered cattle in five years at 8 towns and villages with certain industrial base, namely Xinglong, Fangjiatun, Dawanluo, Yushi, Bozhou, Liangsan, Linchong and Chaping. Beef cattle food processing enterprises with an annual processing capacity of 10,000 tons beef cattle are built in Xinghuang beef cattle food industrial park. Processing enterprises with an annual output of 30,000 tons of beef cattle feed are built at Xinglong Town.

Policy guarantee: Xinhuang County has been identified as the "standardized beef cattle farming pilot county" and "modern herbivorous animal husbandry demonstration county" in Hunan province in 2013. The County Party Committee and Government have prepared the planning development of cattle industry, and introduced a series of preferential policies in terms of policy, land, capital and other support.

Benefit assessment: The gross income of 180 million Yuan is from farming, processing and feed in a year of which: the base produces 10,000 slaughtered beef cattle per year, and if the 5-month feeder cattle are purchased, every cattle is 200 kg of meat on average and the procurement price of each live cattle is 25 Yuan/kg, the profit will be 5,000 Yuan and the gross income for the year will be up to 50 million Yuan. 10,000 tons of beef products, sales of 800 million Yuan, gross revenue of about 120 million. with an annual output of 30,000 tons of feed, gross revenue up to 10 million Yuan.
