Introduction: East River Basin is the relatively concentrated area of nonferrous metallic mineral in Chenzhou and has a long history of nonferrous metal mining. Now there are more than 20 mining and dressing enterprise in the area, most of which are financed by private capital, therefore the technology is relatively backward and mining is disordered. There are more than 10 illegal mining plants including Dongfang in Chenzhou Nonferrous Metal Industrial Park and its surrounding areas, from which the emission of ore and wastewater discharge of tailings cause serious pollution to the water quality of East River.
Proposed project:
1. demolish 10 illegal mining plants and dispose 1,465,600 tons of tailings safely;
2. clean and rectify more than 30 tailing ponds and dispose more than 30 million cubic meters of tailings safely;
3. dredge waterway of 9.2km, build river dike of 18.4km, locally bury silt of 1 million cubic meters, construct 3 sand stabilization and fixation barrages, and accordingly set up 12 irrigation projects and 4 drainage projects;
4. carry out dredging and secure landfill to the heavily contaminated soil, employ dosing, solidification and stabilization to the moderately contaminated soil, and adopt agricultural ecological restoration to slightly contaminated soil. Repair 5000 mu of contaminated soil; 5. Construct special landfills.
