Ningxiang National Economic and Technological Development Zone (NETDZ) held a ceremony to mark the commencement of 30 major projects on December 17. The aggregate investment of those projects hit 8.29 billion yuan. Among them, the contracted investment of 14 industrial projects amounted to 2.97 billion yuan. After reaching the optimal capacity, they will increase the output value of industrial enterprises above designated size by 17.5 billion yuan, generating an annual growth of 1.1 billion yuan in tax revenue. Those projects aim to be the first in central China and the country at large. Gree Electric Appliances plans to inject 150 million yuan in its regional logistics center.
The second-phase production base of Qingdao Beer (Changsha) Co., Ltd. strives to forge the largest production base of Qingdao draft beer in central and south China. Jiajia Condiment Base in the zone aims to be China's largest condiment base, China's first Culture Center of Teaseed Oil and Exhibition Hall of Soy Sauce.
Apart from the industrial projects, 16 comprehensive supporting projects including Wangning New Village, the Demonstration Zone of Affordable Housing Project and ENN Energy also started construction, with the investment totaling 5.32 billion yuan. The built-up area will be expanded to 25 square kilometers from the current 20 square kilometers.
