As a pacemaker in China’s mechatronics sector, Xiangtan Electric Manufacturing Co.,Ltd (XEMC ) created more than 1,100 varieties of mechatronic products and technologies. Hundreds of them are known as the first home-made mechanical and electrical equipment which includes the first railway electric locomotive, the first urban light rail car and the first set of troll platform in China.

Mainly engaged in manufacturing complete sets of electrical equipment, vehicle equipment and new energy equipment, the company earns an annual income of more than 3 billion yuan from these three advantageous businesses. 

The 5MW Magneto DD Sea Wind Turbine independently developed by Xiangtan Electric Manufacturing Corporation Ltd (XEMC) commenced its journey to the experimental wind farm of Holland National Wind Energy Research Center, exhibiting the company’s solid competitive strength in the international market.

The main business income of the company crossed 10 billion yuan in 2010. The sales revenue of the first four months in 2011 grew by 20% over the same period of 2010. In possession of 10 odd land and sea wind power technologies, the company manufactured 500-plus XEMC-made wind turbines running in more than 20 wind farms throughout China. The National Wind Turbine R&D Center and the National Key Laboratory for Sea Wind Power Technologies and Testing were launched in the company one after another. Last year, wind power products of the company created 3.73 billion yuan. This year the company saw a significant output value growth over the same period of last year.

Based on its industrial cluster superiorities, XEMC has not only consolidated and expanded the domestic market but also entered the international market. In 2010, the company acquired Holland Darwin Mechanical and Electric Corporation. It also established partnership with America and Belgium in the development of solar and nuclear energy. Up till now, the products of its three advantageous businesses sold well in 26 countries and regions of Southeast Asia, Europe and Central America.
